There are NO INTENTIONAL SPOILERS IN THIS ARTICLE! There. I said it. Are you okay? Is the heart attack and almost spontaneous utterance of Internet Troll language gone? Good.
As stated before, there are no intentional spoilers here. If that's what you're looking for, go else where. Also, you should be ashamed. You're like the kid who sneaks around the house looking for where his/her parents hid the Christmas presents. SHAME ON YOU, but I digress.
I will not be revealing plot lines, telling you about whole scenes or that the Butler did it in the final scene. (Inside family joke)
In true "Deadpool" fashion, the movie was AMAZING! Raunchy, bloody, gruesome, warped, filled with profanity and tons of sexual references. THIS IS NOT A MOVIE TO TAKE YOUR 6, 10, 12, 14 year old too!
"...but Spike, it's a comic book movie...." Yes. Yes it is, and if you have ever picked up a Deadpool comic in your life and read it; you would know that this is an ADULT oriented comic book.
"....I'm taking my kid. He's not a wuss and he's 11...." Awesome. Good for you . How very progressive of you. Then you can explain all the breasts, camel toe, sexual positions, strap on up Ryan Reynolds backside and why he masturbates so much in the movie. Okay, there's one spoiler. But no more, I promise.
It's rated "R"
Under 17 not allowed without parent.
"....but Spike, who are you to tell me how to raise my child?"
I'm a parent. I tell you these things because I am trying to help. I don't want you to have to go through the embarrassment I saw today when MULTIPLE parents brought their children to see the "Merc with a Mouth" and then had to leave 20 minutes in because their kid was crying.
I sat there watching the movie, when out of my peripherals I saw parents getting up and leaving, mumbling phrases like, "...Oh my God! This is supposed to be a comic book movie..." and my personal favorite, "...sshhh, sshhh sweetie, I know he's not wearing any pants...."
There are many different types of comic books in the world. From the heroic Captain America and Batman, to the raunch of Deadpool or Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. All it takes is a little time and effort to do some research on the web to find out what you're getting into.
There. Now that I am done preaching, I will get off my soap box and say this. DEADPOOL was EPIC! Not exactly canon to the Comic, but pretty darn close. Tons of 4th wall breaking, quips, one liners that I plan to use in the future and tons of action. Enjoy the movie. I did and so did my wife! Which totally blew my mind.

For over 75 years, Wonder Woman has been a powerful and positive role model for women. Last successfully portrayed by the very talented and lovely Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman has never seen the Silver Scree. Until Now!
Princess Diana will dominate movie theaters this summer. Played by Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6), the Israeli born thespian promises to deliver one heck of a performance.
Director: Patty Jenkins

In theaters: June 23, 2017
Entertainment Weekly has released NEW pics from the upcoming movie, Dr. Strange. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch (SHERLOCK, Star Trek:Into Darkness) This movie promises to be a whole new level of epic!
Many have approached me with the same statement, "...I don't really know anything about 'Dr. Strange'..."
So let's look to MARVEL itself for some knowledge:
"Doctor Strange is one of the most powerful sorcerers in existence. Like most sorcerers, he draws his power from three primary sources: the invocation of powerful mystic entities or objects, the manipulation of the universe's ambient magical energy, and his own psychic resources. Strange's magical repertoire includes energy projection and manipulation, matter transformation, animation of inanimate objects, teleportation, illusion-casting, mesmerism, thought projection, astral projection, dimensional travel, time travel and mental possession, to name a few. The full range of his abilities is unknown. Doctor Strange's powers are sometimes less effective against strictly science-based opponents, although he can overcome this limitation with effort." -MARVEL.COM
The Sorcerer Supreme is probably, in my opinion, one of the most under rated Comic Book Heroes of all time. I can't WAIT to see this movie!

So, how does one review a movie without giving away any spoilers to those that haven't seen the movie yet?
One has to approach it as only a True FAN BOY can. You write the article the way a zealot like Fan Boy would want to read an article about his/her favorite Sci-Fi Saga. With class, style, respect and elated Geek Goose Bumps!
There will be no spoilers here. If you want spoilers, you are not a true fan, and should be ashamed. You're lazy and should feel like a low life . Go see the darn movie.
To say that I was eager, excited even flabbergasted to see this movie is an understatement. With no disrespect intended to George Lucas for giving us the original 3 episodes. Episodes 1-3 left me wanting. Were the special effects amazing in Episodes 1-3? Yes. Was the light saber duel between Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi amazing? Hell yes! However George Lucas did Episode VII a huge favor when he said, "...I don't like it...".
I walked into the theater with my 6 year old son, and the intrigue and excitement was overwhelming. The title rolled, the audience clapped and cheered and the story began.
It felt like home. The character development, the humor and "one liners", the action sequences. This is what Episodes 1-3 should have been. A perfect blend of Modern day technology, C.G.I. and classic "original" style film making. I seriously feel that J.J. Abrams did a service to the die hard's by getting back in touch with what the original movies were. Home.
The character attachment you develop to the new and original characters is almost instantaneous. A touch of old with a smothering of new is not overwhelming. The special effects are fantastic! The dog fighting between X-wings and Tie-Fighters is phenomenal!
I have to be honest, I was worried Disney and Abrams were going to botch the whole thing. However they did us justice and put out an amazing movie. I have no doubt that Disney is going to milk every penny they can out of their acquisition of the Star Wars franchise, but if they do what they did with Episode VII; I'm okay with it. The second that it begins to suck, I promise... I will be the first to declare shenanigans!
I GIVE "STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS" 5 STARS *****

I have to say that I am really excited for this movie! I grew up with Star Trek and Star Wars. In my house, with 5 kids and 2 parents all of whom were raging geeks, there were always movie quotes being tossed around but used as every day life mannerisms. "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor...*fill in euphemism here*" or "I have a bad feeling about this..."
Right before Gene Roddenberry died, Star Trek was hitting an all time high. Star Trek TNG, Deep Space 9 and even Voyager were trail blazers on the evening TV. Then in the new millenium it kind of died out. Movies were coming out here and there, and although very well done; it felt like the fans were becoming apathetic toward the whole saga.
Now, since the new films have been coming out, the way they were so simply and eloquently able to re-write the entire Star Trek Universe has me very excited. Die Hard fans like Simon Pegg (Scotty) are working their butts off to ensure the sagas survival. My friends at the USS Inferno and USS Renegade are definitely with me on this when I say , HELL YEA!!! BRING ON THE TREK!!!!!
From director Justin Lin comes STAR TREK BEYOND starring Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zach Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban. In theaters July 22nd.
Independence Day: Resurgence | Official Trailer [HD] | 20th Century FOX
I am actually really excited for this!
When I heard they were doing this, I have to admit. I was very skeptical. What with all the atrocious re-boots coming out of Hollywood these days, my fear was that a sequel for "Independence Day" was going to be an epic fail. The trailer looks strong! As a writer and comic book creator, I honestly have to say that they way they are presenting the 20 year time lapse is brilliant. I for one will be sitting front row in eager anticipation for this movie.
"We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction."
In Theaters - June 24, 2016
Cast: Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward

If there is one movie that I am eagerly waiting for that isn't "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"; THIS IS IT!
I have always been a Captain America fan. Ever since I was a kid. I was always able to relate to Steve Rogers, (pre-super soldier serum). Captain was always a role model for me. He was good for the sake of being good. I seriously feel that the world is missing that quality these days.
Even in the face of tyranny, Captain never breaks. Never waivers.
The trailer looks phenomenal, and I can't wait to take my son to see this movie! Plus , did you notice "Black Panther"?
We all know "The Matrix". A movie that pushed the limits of imagination aided by superior computer graphics and wire trapeze tricks; that was followed by two crappy sequels that felt forced written. "The Matrix" could be considered one of the most ground breaking movies in cinema history. I feel though that a movie that should be given equal credit if not more credit, was a movie called "Equilibrium".
Now, both are what I like to call Alternate History Timeline Fictions. I'm a huge sucker for Alternate History Fictions. (That's why I wrote the series "War in the Backyard") The fact that if a series of events in human history had been different, or changed; what would/could happen. The "Terminator" saga would be another prime example of this.
If you're unfamiliar with either movie, here are their synopses':
Thomas A. Anderson is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines that live off of the humans' body heat and electrochemical energy and who imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: super-powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion. (IMDB)
At the end of World War III, the world fell under the control of Father and the Tetragrammaton: a government that outlaws all forms of art and emotion. Citizens are forced to take drugs that eliminate emotions. However, "Sense Offenders": citizens who resist the laws and operate underground are continually at war with the Tetragrammaton. John Preston is a Cleric, an elite super-soldier who's mission is to hunt down and eliminate Sense Offenders with the help of a ruthless police force. One day, Preston accidentally breaks his morning dose of emotion suppressant drug and begins to feel. Soon, he begins sympathizing with the Sense Offenders and begins to understand the beauty of feeling... A beauty that the government, in which Preston spent his life serving, would like to see destroyed. (IMDB)
I want to do a comparison between the two movies using 3 scenes from each and let you be the judge. Below are the very first fight scenes from each movie. Each one in their own right is amazing and jaw dropping. The Matrix scene shows "Trinity" evading capture from police and agents, and was one of the first scenes I ever saw using a blend of CG, Wire fighting and new camera techniques.
The scene from Equilibrium, is also jaw dropping and is the first time we get to see "The Gun Kata". (I'll explain what that is in a minute). It was one of those scenes where, I was so mesmerized that I was on the edge of my seat.
The Gun Kata is a fictional gun-wielding martial art discipline. "Kata (型,かた,カタ)" is a Japanese word for Karate, Jujutsu, Aikido, and many other traditional Bujutsu. Gun Kata is based on the premise that, given the positions of the participants in a gun battle, all trajectories of fire are statistically predictable. By memorizing the positions, one can fire at the most likely location of an enemy without aiming at him in the traditional sense. By the same token, the trajectories of incoming fire are also statistically predictable, so by assuming the appropriate stance, one can keep clear of the most likely path of enemy bullets.
The Gun Kata shown in Equilibrium is a hybrid mix of the film's writer and director Kurt Wimmer's own style of Gun Kata (invented in his backyard) and the martial arts style of the fight choreographer Jim Vickers, with elements of the Chinese Wing Chun martial art style. Wimmer and Vickers disagreed on the appropriate form of Gun Kata, with Wimmer advocating a smoother, flowing style and the choreographer supporting a more rigid style. Much of the Gun Kata seen in the film is based on the choreographer's style. Kurt Wimmer's Gun Kata style is dispersed sparsely throughout the movie, most notably in the introductory scene with the silhouetted man, played by Wimmer himself, practicing with dual pistols.
To quote the movie:
"Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically-predictable element. The Gun Kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents, while keeping the defender clear of the statistically-traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increased lethal proficiency makes the master of the Gun Katas an adversary not to be taken lightly."
The next 2 scenes are some of the most EPIC shootouts from each movie.
Finally, some of the last battles from each movie. Neo takes on Agent Smith as he begins to believe that he is capable of defeating an "invincible" agent of the Matrix.
Cleric John Preston (Christian Bale), makes way to take out the leader of the Tetragrammaton facing impossible odds.
I love both movies. "The Matrix" allowed us to open the possibility in our minds that anything is achievable. That we are only limited by ourselves. With a great plot line and writing, it was only ruined at the very end by "Neo" flying off like a super hero.
However, I truly feel that "Equilibrium" had better storytelling and achieved so without the aid of computer software. I think it's only downfall was that it was a little long winded for most people. Sadly I feel that the plight of modern society is to blame for this. People today want instant gratification, and don't take the time to enjoy character development and plot building.
So, WHO IS THE WINNER? Or are Both movies PHENOMENAL in their own rights? I feel the later is more true.

Don't you hate it when you find out Hollywood is making a movie based on a Comic Book you love, and You get ALL Pumped up for it; and then... IT SUCKS? Me too!
Here are 5 movies that I was really Pumped for when I heard they were coming out and was devastated after watching them.
First up: #5- SPAWN- 1997
Starring: John Leguizamo, Michael Jai White, Martin Sheen
His armor was cool and John Leguizamo's performance were the only redeeming aspects of the movie.
#4- The Shadow -1994
Starring: Alec Baldwin, John Lone, Penelope Ann Miller
The little dagger with the faces still creeps me out. Penelope Ann Miller was gorgeous, although her acting was very bland. Bladwin's performace is well,...it's Baldwin. The only redeeming qualities of the film in my opinion are the duel wielding 1911A1 .45 Caliber pistols and all of the amazing vintage cars from the 1930's
#3- HULK -2003
Starring: Eric Bana, Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott
Hulk is the size of a building! Really? It feels like they made this movie just to see what kind of things they could do with Computer Special effects. Sam Elliot, the amazing actor and play-write he is, was some of the ONLY talent in the movie.
#2- Fantastic Four-2015
Starring: Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan
I hate this movie for one simple reason. They screwed the Origin Story Up! The Special effects were awesome, and Kate Mara is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! Other than that, "Hey Hollywood! If it AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!"
Finally we get to #1 on the List!!!!
#1- Howard The Duck- 1986
Starring: Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, Tim Robbins
It's Howard the Duck. Do I really have to keep going on this one? Here, Fanboy Flicks says it Best:

LOS ANGELES – Wes Craven, the prolific writer-director who thrilled audiences with iconic and bloody suburban slashers like "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream" that made his name synonymous with horror, has died. He was 76.
In a statement, Craven's family said that he died in his Los Angeles home Sunday, surrounded by family, after battling brain cancer.
A prolific writer, director and editor, Craven is credited with reinventing the teen horror genre with the 1984 release of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" starring a then-unknown Johnny Depp. The movie and its indelible, razor-fingered villain Freddy Krueger (played by Robert Englund) led to several sequels, as did his 1996 success, "Scream."
Besides his work in horror films, Craven also directed the drama "Music of the Heart," which earned Meryl Streep an Oscar nomination.
Wesley Earl "Wes" Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Aug. 2, 1939. Though he earned a Master's Degree in philosophy and writing from John Hopkins University and briefly taught as a college professor in Pennsylvania and New York, his start in movies was in pornography, where he worked under a pseudonym.
Craven's feature debut under his own name was 1972's "The Last House on the Left," a horror film about teenage girls abducted by thugs and taken into the woods. Made for just $87,000, the film, though graphic enough to be censored in many countries, was a hit. Roger Ebert said it was "about four times as good as you'd expect."
"Nightmare on Elm Street," however, catapulted him to far greater renown in 1984. The Ohio-set film about teenagers who are stalked in their dreams, which Craven wrote and directed, spawned a never-ending franchise that has carried on until, most recently, a 2010 remake.
The concept, Craven said, came from his own youth in Cleveland, where he lived next to a cemetery on an Elm Street.
To pay homage to Wes Craven here are the TOP TEN Freddy Krueger KILLS!
CEO Spike Bowan is the Pittsburgh based Actor/Director/ Author/ Creator of the Alternate History Genre/Fiction saga "War in the Backyard".
