These are some great guys and gals! If you haven’t seen their Video”Training for an Uncertain Tomorrow” you NEED TO! They are some great folks that have addressed ‘the Elephant in the room’. What if SHTF and you’re not at home. You have to get home to get your gear and bug out. Are you ready? What will it be like?
The crew at SRA is addressing that. Aside from making AMAZING FIREARMS, which I have personally fired and reviewed; SRA is making one hell of a YouTube series and needs your help. Here are some excerpts from their Indie Go-Go campaign.
Hey folks, we are Savannah River Armory, Inc. We are a small firearms manufacturing company located in Augusta, Georgia. Last year we launched a webisode series titled Training for an Uncertain Tomorrow. The series is based around the simple question, “What would you do if you were faced with the end of the civilized world?” The launch was a hit and accumulated a wealth of interest. Unfortunately, funding fell short and the series was put on hold after only the first episode.
Thanks to our rapid growth over the past year, our followers are demanding its continuance. We have recently entered the planning phase, but plans cannot be solidified without funding! The first episode was single-handedly funded through SRA to the tune of $15,000. Could we do it again for $15k? Sure. Can we do it bigger and better for $30,000? Absolutely!
By helping fund the next episode you will be achieving two things. First, you will be raising awareness of the importance in having a “SHTF” plan. Second, you will learn new techniques and skills required for survival after civilization collapse.
What We Need
$15,000 seems quite steep at first thought, especially for a 30 minute webisode. There is much more to consider other than buying a camera and staging some buddies in the latest “tacticool” gear. First, we have to pay someone to write all of the dialog and plan the story line. That’s the cheap part… Next, we have to confirm locations, pay for licenses, insurance (God help us if Grandma trips over a piece of equipment on her way to the Quickie Mart to play her numbers and breaks her hip….she just won the lottery at our expense) and permits to shut down the streets with cops and a Fire Marshall (paid to the tune of $25 an hour per roadblock). Then we can move on to filming. Put a $25000 RED on set with another $10k worth of lenses, add in a Sony FS700 that shoots at 240 FPS with another set of lenses, add $10k worth of support equipment per camera, $50-100k in dollies, tracks, lighting, generators, grip and Audio equipment (rented….not cheap) and then pay for skilled crew to use all that equipment. Include a dose of special effects, squibs, explosions, and take into consideration that during the filming process we have to feed the crew and actors, maybe house them, all on top of paying some of them to be there. Then there is post production editing, promoting, and a premiere.
Don’t worry, we don’t really expect you to just give us your money and not receive something personal in return! These perk packages ensure that this will be the closest and most personal you can get without paying for escorts. Contributors will receive the perks from every preceding levels of donation.
If our $15,00 goal is not met, we will continue the process, only it will be much more boring, a lot less action, and probably sub Hollywood quality. Seriously, that would be a bummer, but we doubt we will have to go that route.
If anyone understands the phrase “adapt and overcome” it is this group right here. Not only is our entire staff at Savannah River Armory comprised of veterans, but we have overcome many hurdles within our industry and community. As a small business in Augusta, Georgia, we are all too familiar with the good ‘ole boy mentality. Unfortunately that mentality is very narrow-minded, and typically brings all of the hecklers out of the woods. First, if you are not a “30-30” specialty shop you will not succeed. If you do not carry mossy oak camouflage you will certainly fail, and so on. Breaking the norm has been one of our greatest sales strategies, and has ultimately led to other local shops following suite. Our stubborn persistence is what keeps us racing toward success.
Other Ways You Can Help
If financial contributions are just totally unfeasible for you, there are other ways you can contribute. If you sincerely enjoyed our first episode, or if you just want to see cool sh*t, then simply share our campaign. IndieGoGo has made sharing on social media super convenient with these nifty little share buttons. Just pick your platform of choice, get up on your soap box, and demand that everyone on your friends list contribute to the cause. Seriously though, even that would make us incredibly thankful.
